Moving across the globe for your education is a big decision. We are here to make your transition as seamless as possible.

If you are interested in pursuing an undergraduate degree program at Louisiana Tech University, please refer to the checklist below. All undergraduate admission requirements needed to make an application for admission are outlined below.

Immigration Checklist:

The following items are required in order to receive your Initial I-20 form. This form is used to apply for your F-1 Student Visa. Upon your acceptance, you will receive your I-20 and instructions on how to apply for the F-1 Student Visa. For more details on the visa application process, please click here. **Please note** that we do not advise applicants to schedule a visa interview appointment prior to receiving their I-20. We cannot expedite the issuance of anyone's I-20 due to an approaching interview date. 

  1. Bank Statement or Scholarship Letter: Proof of available yearly funds to cover each academic year of study (Fall, Winter, and Spring) in the form of an official bank statement of account, government scholarship letter, or athletic scholarship letter (accounts must be accessible at any time). Must be a recent statement, no older than 6 months at the time of I-20 issuance
  2. If coming from a High School in the United States, you must submit a copy of most recent I-20 and current I-94 card
  3. DS-160

When filling out the DS-160 for your visa interview, you can list our office address as the local address in the States.

Sending Your Application Documents


Most admission documents can be sent as PDF attachments via email (international@latech.edu). You also have the option to send your documents by express or standard mailing options.

The OIA uses University Express Mail Service (UEMS) to ensure your express mailing needs are met. To create your account with UEMS, please click here.

Funding

An application will not be considered without specific documentation of yearly funds available to cover each academic term of study. Louisiana Tech University estimates the student’s average cost for an academic term of nine months (Fall, Winter, and Spring) to be:

  Standard With Bulldog Scholarship
Tuition & Fees $22,758 $11,709
Living Expenses $6,150 $6,150
Books & Insurance $1,500 $1,500
TOTAL $30,408 $19,359

When the required credentials are on file, your application will be processed and you will be notified of the decision. If you want anyone other than yourself to receive information, we must have written permission from you stating the full name of the person. 

**I-20s will only be issued to accepted students.

Provisional Deadlines - please submit your application and all required documents by the following dates:

Fall Quarter Enrollment: July 1
Winter Quarter Enrollment: October 1
Spring Quarter Enrollment: January 1

Bulldog Out-of-State Scholarship

The Bulldog Scholarship is an out-of-state tuition fee waiver that will subtract approximately 50% of your total tuition costs. If eligible for this scholarship, you will be considered an in-state student for tuition purposes.

International Freshmen Requirements:
  • 2.5 GPA on a US scale (as assessed by our admissions coordinator)
  • Admission Test (you need only one):
    TOEFL 79
    IELTS 6.5
    Duolingo 105
    SAT 1130
    or ACT 23

You must meet only one of the English and only one of the Math requirements to be eligible.

English:

  • TOEFL 79
  • IELTS band 6.5
  • Duolingo English Test 105
  • SAT English subscore 500
  • ACT 23
  • English Accuplacer 250
  • or cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 as evaluated by our admissions coordinator (as of Fall 2024 only)

Math:

  • SAT math subscore 510
  • Math Accuplacer 250
  • or cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 as evaluated by our admissions coordinator

Note: Check your application portal to accept the scholarship. You must then also sign and upload the terms and conditions agreement. This document will be available in your portal. 

*You must maintain an overall quarterly GPA of 2.0 in order to keep the Bulldog Scholarship.

Transfer/Currently Enrolled International Students

Requirements:

  • Completed 12 hours of credit from Louisiana Tech University or an accredited school
  • Earned a cumulative GPA of 2.75
  • Have no need for remedial course work 

*You must maintain an overall quarterly GPA of 2.0 in order to keep the Bulldog Scholarship. 

Graduate Students

International graduate students are not eligible for the Bulldog Scholarship. However, they may apply for graduate assistantships, which will also waive out-of-state tuition and fees.
