Dr. Sepehrimanesh is a Tenure-track Assistant Professor in the School of Biological Sciences at Louisiana Tech University. His research focuses on the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying neurodegenerative diseases, particularly amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and other neurological disorders. His work integrates stem cell biology, neurobiology, bioinformatics, and advanced cell culture models to investigate how cellular dysfunction contributes to neurodegeneration and neurovascular impairment. Dr. Sepehrimanesh leads research aimed at understanding the roles of oxidative stress, mitochondrial dysfunction, autophagy, and neuroinflammation in neurological diseases. His laboratory employs human induced pluripotent stem cell (hiPSC)-derived neural models, transcriptomic analyses, and innovative co-culture systems to study interactions among cells of the nervous system and neurovascular unit. In addition to his research activities, he is actively involved in teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in molecular biology, immunology, and neuroscience, while mentoring students and fostering interdisciplinary collaborations. His work has been supported by competitive research grants and has contributed to advancing knowledge in neuroscience and translational biomedical research.
