The Animal Science program combines hands-on experience with cutting-edge science.
You’ll learn the "why" and the "how" of animal care and production through classroom
instruction and immersive labs that include beef cattle, swine, sheep, goats, poultry,
and horses — all on campus.
Get real-world experience working with University-owned animals as you study animal
behavior, nutrition, anatomy, and more. At our 43-acre Equine Center, located on South
Campus, you’ll gain valuable skills in horse care and management. The center is home
to around 35 stock-type horses and features a 16-stall training barn, a lighted arena
with covered stands, and multiple round pens for groundwork training.
Veterinary medicine, animal production, equine management, or beyond... you'll graduate
with the knowledge, confidence, and practical experience to lead in the field.
