As an accounting major, you will build deep knowledge in financial and managerial accounting, auditing, assurance, taxation, regulation, data analytics, accounting information systems, business strategy, law, and ethics. You’ll also develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills that set you apart in the job market and prepare you to lead across any industry.
As one of the oldest and most respected accounting programs in the state, our graduates are leaders in the industry, managing top global companies, family businesses, government agencies, and prestigious CPA firms, including the Big Four and regional accounting firms.
In addition to the four-year Bachelor of Science in Accounting, students can continue into our Master of Accountancy (MAcc) program, a fully integrated, five-year path accelerated through Concurrent Enrollment. Students with fewer than 30 hours left in their undergraduate program can begin MAcc coursework while completing their bachelor’s degree, saving time and accelerating their professional goals.

The Animal Science program combines hands-on experience with cutting-edge science. You’ll learn the "why" and the "how" of animal care and production through classroom instruction and immersive labs that include beef cattle, swine, sheep, goats, poultry, and horses — all on campus.
 
Get real-world experience working with University-owned animals as you study animal behavior, nutrition, anatomy, and more. At our 43-acre Equine Center, located on South Campus, you’ll gain valuable skills in horse care and management. The center is home to around 35 stock-type horses and features a 16-stall training barn, a lighted arena with covered stands, and multiple round pens for groundwork training.

The Master of Fine Arts (MFA) at Louisiana Tech University is a NASAD-accredited 60-hour terminal degree designed for artists and designers ready to deepen their practice and define their creative voice. This on-campus program is ideal for students seeking a broad-based business education in a collaborative, face-to-face learning environment. Students take 30 credit hours of core coursework covering major business functions, global and ethical decision-making, and organizational leadership. Students can also choose to specialize with one of six concentration options: Finance, Information Assurance, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Marketing, Six Sigma, and Business Data Analytics.
Professional MBA – 100% Online (30 or 36 Hours)
Designed for working professionals, our fully online MBA offers maximum flexibility without sacrificing quality. Students are taught by the same world-class faculty and follow the same core curriculum as the Traditional MBA, gaining in-demand skills on your own schedule. Even in our fully online format, students engage with faculty and peers through interactive discussions and collaborative projects, including opportunities to travel abroad through our global consulting course. Students can also customize the MBA experience with one of four online concentrations: Marketing, Business Data Analytics, Aviation Management, and Six Sigma.

We admit a new Ph.D. cohort every other year, with 3–4 students per cohort. Business Economics students gain hands-on research experience by developing and presenting original work at the Dallas Federal Reserve Bank and the College of Business’ annual Research Forum. They also collaborate with faculty to produce the Regional Economic Analysis of Louisiana (REAL) Report, a quarterly publication offering insight into statewide and regional economic trends. Compiled in part by students in the Regional Economic Analysis course (ECON 425), this report gives undergraduates valuable experience in economic modeling, data science, and statistical analysis.

Our CIS curriculum is designed to give you a competitive edge through a solid foundation in project management, programming, telecommunications, networking, databases, and information security. But we don’t stop at technical skills; CIS is rooted in the connection between business and technology. A series of information assurance courses teach students to detect, report, and resolve cyber threats. Finance students also manage the Student Managed Investment Fund (SMIF), a $1 million real-world investment portfolio. Educational programs in this major include three years of pre-professional work on the Tech campus, and the senior year is a clinical internship. This clinical internship is completed in one of four traditional hospital-based NAACLS-accredited clinical programs or in one of Louisiana Tech’s two affiliated hospital systems.
