As a finance major, you’ll gain hands-on experience in investment analysis, financial modeling, and research through career-building internships, real-time simulations, and managing real-world portfolios. You’ll also have exclusive access to Ray’s Financial Trading Room, a high-tech learning lab that replicates a Wall Street trading floor. Equipped with professional financial software, market data feeds, and a live ticker board, the room allows you to analyze stock performance, execute simulated trades, and work in a collaborative, professional environment.
Our curriculum is rigorous, experiential, and aligned with the highest professional standards. As a CFA® University Affiliated program, we provide exceptional preparation for the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) exams.
Finance students also manage the Student Managed Investment Fund (SMIF), a $1 million real-world investment portfolio. You’ll take full responsibility for investment research, portfolio decisions, and reporting, with oversight from an advisory board of industry professionals. Results are presented annually and support College of Business priorities like student travel, technology upgrades, and other experiential learning initiatives.
Throughout the program, you’ll work with tools and technologies used by financial professionals across the globe. Nine Bloomberg Terminals in the College of Business provide access to real-time financial data, analytics, and research. You can also complete Bloomberg certification programs in Market Concepts, Finance Fundamentals, and Environmental Social Governance — credentials that demonstrate your proficiency and industry readiness.
