Earn your master's degree to empower high school students across diverse subjects

The Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) in Secondary Education prepares individuals with a bachelor’s degree to become certified teachers for grades 6 through 12 in a variety of subject areas including agriculture, biology, business, chemistry, English, mathematics, physics, social studies, and family and consumer sciences. This program combines rigorous graduate coursework with hands-on classroom teaching experience under the guidance of mentor teachers. Candidates receive a Practitioner License (PL3), enabling them to teach while completing their certification requirements. The curriculum equips future educators with deep content knowledge and effective teaching strategies tailored to adolescent learners. Graduates are ready to inspire and educate diverse learners, preparing them for college, careers, and civic engagement.
