The Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) in Secondary Education prepares individuals with a bachelor’s degree to become certified teachers for grades 6 through 12 in a variety of subject areas including agriculture, biology, business, chemistry, English, mathematics, physics, social studies, and family and consumer sciences. This program combines rigorous graduate coursework with hands-on classroom teaching experience under the guidance of mentor teachers. Candidates receive a Practitioner License (PL3), enabling them to teach while completing their certification requirements.
