The Art History minor provides students with a broad understanding of the visual arts and design from ancient times to the modern day. Students study major artistic movements, individual artists, and cultural influences that have shaped visual expression around the world. Coursework encourages critical thinking about the role of art in society, while developing analytical, research, and communication skills. This minor complements majors in the arts, humanities, and design, but is open to students from any discipline who want to deepen their knowledge of visual culture and the history of creative expression.
