Graphic Design (BFA)

Shaping visual storytellers who turn bold ideas into impactful design

The BFA in Graphic Design (NASAD-accredited) at Louisiana Tech gives students the tools to become thoughtful, skilled visual communicators. Built around a hands-on, studio-based approach, the program helps students develop a strong foundation in design theory, visual aesthetics, and communication strategies while also learning how to use the tools and technologies professionals rely on every day.

Courses cover everything from branding and typography to motion graphics and digital interfaces. Along the way, students learn to think critically, solve problems visually, and create work that’s both compelling and effective. With small classes and faculty who are active in the field, students get personal guidance, real feedback, and support as they build their skills and portfolios.

What sets the program apart is its focus on real-world preparation. Students work on practical projects, take part in critiques, and leave with the ability to adapt and contribute in a fast-moving, creative industry. If you're interested in making a career out of visual problem-solving — whether through design, storytelling, or strategy — this major gives you a strong and flexible starting point.
