Take Flight Toward a Career as a Professional Pilot

A Bachelor of Science in Professional Aviation prepares students for careers as commercial, corporate, or flight instructor pilots. The program consists of 54 semester hours of aviation-specific coursework, leading students through the requirements for the Private Pilot Certificate, Instrument Rating, Commercial Pilot Certificate, and Flight Instructor Certificate. Students also complete a minor in Aviation Management, providing a well-rounded understanding of the business side of the aviation industry. The aviation programs at Louisiana Tech University focus on setting a standard of excellence and providing graduates with the knowledge, skills, experience, and attitudes necessary to shape and lead the aviation industry in the 21st century. The Department of Professional Aviation and the University maintain as their highest priority the education and development of students in a challenging, safe, and supportive community of learners.
