The Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) provides leadership and promotes excellence in professional preparation through the accreditation of counseling and related educational programs. As an accrediting body, CACREP is committed to the development of standards and procedures that reflect the needs of a dynamic, diverse, and complex society. CACREP is dedicated to encouraging and promoting the continuing development and improvement of preparation programs; and preparing counseling and related professionals to provide services consistent with the ideal of optimal human development.
CACREP maintains collaborative relationships with other groups that focus on accreditation, licensing, certification, and the professional development of counselors and related practitioners.
CACREP promotes the professional competence of counseling and related practitioners through the development of preparation standards; the encouragement of excellence in program development; and the accreditation of professional preparation programs.
The Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) ensures the preparation of highly qualified educators through the accreditation of programs in which data drive decisions; resources and practices support candidate learning; and candidates demonstrate knowledge, skills, and professional dispositions geared toward raising student achievement. The purpose of this page is to provide the reader with information connected to accreditation of the teacher education programs within the College of Education and Human Sciences. The College of Education and Human Sciences is accredited at the initial licensure level through Fall 2025. The next site visit will take place in spring 2025.
The Curriculum, Instruction, and Leadership Department within the College of Education and Human Sciences at Louisiana Tech University is hosting an accreditation visit by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) on April 7-9, 2025. Interested parties are invited to submit third-party comments to the evaluation team. Please note that comments must address substantive matters related to the quality of professional education programs offered, and should specify the party’s relationship to the provider (i.e., graduate, present or former faculty member, employer of graduates).
